For this special 11th Anniversary Edition, created in collaboration with the 65th Anniversary of the Conjunto Folklórico Nacional de Cuba, the programme is being carefully designed to offer a balance of intensive training, cultural immersion, live music, and unique experiences in Havana.

To help you anticipate the rhythm of the festival, a typical day may look like this:

Morning (Optional | approx. 9:00am – 12:00pm)
Cultural activities, rehearsals, talks, conferences, and special experiences organised by the Conjunto Folklórico Nacional de Cuba as part of their 65th Anniversary celebrations.

Festival Training Programme (approx. 12:45pm – 5:30pm)
Four workshops with live music, short breaks, demonstrations, cultural reflection, and immersive Afro-Cuban learning.

Some days may also include rumba evenings, live performances, Havana experiences, and special cultural activities.

Under the guidance of the legendary Maestro Domingo Pau, with over 60 years of career wisdom, our exceptional team is hand-picked. He selects teachers, musicians, and assistants for their rich experience and dedication to Afro-Cuban culture, ensuring the festival’s authentic and vibrant spirit.

Luanda Pau

Luanda Pau is a dynamic force with over 30 years of experience as a teacher, dancer, and choreographer. Her international presence effortlessly bridges the gap between Cuban and European cultures. Multilingual and deeply passionate, Luanda continually develops projects that contribute to global cultural exchange and development.

Simon Atkinson

As one of the first Capoeira Masters outside of Brazil, His exploration of Afro-Cuban dance has been pivotal in developing Rhythmic Rope Flow and gaining profound insights into the foundational ways we move. Beyond his passion for movement, Simon is a 2009 graduate of the School of Social Entrepreneurs and a devoted father.
